He looks pretty mellow right now!

And there's a Santa Cam, too:

And a COUNTDOWN TIMER!

With a FUN ACTIVITY!

I'll pass. I'm sure that memory
game would be very good for my
Stroke-Addled brain, but it felt
like frustration.

Edit this one

Mommies are awesome and super-womyn and will do what it takes, usually without bitching too much about it. So where does anyone get off telling this mommie-to-be that what she did wasn't so very spectacular because she wasn't "really" upside down, just a super-extreme form of Trendelenburg? Check out the picture on the Wiki page: Looks plenty uncomfortable to me!
But what do I know? I'm the one who groused so much about plain old bed rest when my son started to be born three months early, thought I couldn't do it, wanted to be outside gardening, or cleaning house or something!
He turned out really, really well, but it was frankly harder to spend a big chunk of the day for ten weeks in the NICU and other chunks breast-pumping to get him his noms! Such little packets of milk, but it was all he got, because he never was able to latch on and nurse IRL.

Slobway

  • Dear RHU:
Help needed! Stargazer just went out to fetch some sub sammidges at Slobway. He looked up the time they would close and had himself a nap first. He was all tuckered out after a strenuous day of not having sex. {Don't ask, please.} Oh, and I did I mention that during the long day of no sex, I wanted sammidges from the awesome independent instead, but the periscope place won out because they're running a pre-holiday special, so all four of us could eat for ~$20?
So he got there, and they were closed! Not just this second closed but everything's put away, tidied up and scrubbed down clean closed!
What should he do? Stargazer is an Aspie, so he doesn't always know right off the most effective course of action. {Ok, he usually gets stuck thinking up all the possible courses of action and doesn't get around to doing just one of them!} But I need some noms before too long!
Oh my! Look at who is having Customer Appreciation Month!
Well, that's it. Still waiting for my noms. I've got an orange, but it hurts too much. Maybe it's PBJ time?
Nah, he's off to another Slobway Store!  But look at what I found! You can't even complain to the Slobs
unless you have a receipt number!

    1. Why won’t the survey accept the HOST ID I’m entering?
    a. HOST ID is case sensitive (your HOST ID may be numbers or numbers/letters), so make sure to use lower and upper case letters as shown on the receipt, if applicable.
    2. I didn’t get the email containing my “Thank You” reward code – where is it?
    a. Please check your inbox and junk box, and make sure to tell your email program to “allow emails from tellsubway.com”. If the email is not in your inbox or junk box, click here to send an email to customer support and request a copy of your “Thank You” email.
    3. What do I need to do to take a survey?
    a. You’ll need a valid, legible purchase receipt from a SUBWAY® Restaurant, and a valid email address.
    4. How often can I take a survey?
    a. Surveys are currently limited to one per 24 hour period per customer.
    5. Can I just print out the coupon and bring it to the store to get my “Thank You” reward?
    a. No, sorry – please write the unique coupon code found in the email in the space provided on your receipt.

SUBWAY® is the undisputed leader in providing consumers with choices, including many healthier
meal options. View our menu, see nutritional info, locate restaurants, buy a franchise, apply for jobs,
order catering and give us your feedback.
And the Free Food I'll get for responding to their survey?  A cookie!
Well, I'll get a cookie or some dessert anyway.  Stargazer is awfully good to me.
Puts up with my slow and need for a walker and my moods!

Merry Solstice, RHU!

I <3 RHU!
It makes me think!
This post immediately reminded me of page 45
in L. Sprague de Camp's novel, _Lest Darkness Fall_, the line about asking to pass the butter by wrapping the request in three puns, four mythological "illusions" {I think he meant allusions}, and a dissertation on early butter manufacture!

Hope every slave is piling up boxes of product! This is the season of boxes are totally way more fun than their contents, although the yummy noms that were delivered from Figi's today and the bacon-wrapped top sirloin steak {not deep-fried, but there is a small stick (or skewer)} that were delivered from Omaha Steaks yesterday look pretty good to me!
Wishing you all good cheer as the solstice approaches,
grateful mom

No, Fuck You!

And, while I'm at it, fuck this one, too.
http://www.healthcentral.com/chronic-pain/cf/slideshows/5-signs-of-prescription-drug-addiction/you-use-illegal-or-questionable-methods-to-get-drugs/?ic=8831
I don't suppose they noticed the behaviors identified as drug-seeking are also behaviors commonly seen in those who are taking long-term narcotics for legitimate pain but whose pain is no longer adequately controlled by their maintenance therapy. You can call it breakthrough pain and view it as normal and cope with it, or you can call it drug-seeking so you can increase admissions to Hazelden!

And wait until you read this part:

If you find yourself seeking medication from a doctor even when another doctor has advised you not to take it or has refused to provide the drug, it's a sign you may have a problem with addiction.
Other behaviors prescription drug addicts exhibit include asking for prescription meds from friends and relatives, falsifying prescriptions, stealing money or goods to pay for meds, trading services for drugs, and Foraging for medications.

Foraging?  I'll totally have to try that.  I've probably mentioned that I was in a shelter once where this would have been feasible, or is my deja vu just kicking in again?
