I’m assuming the orange color is from the setting sun light that is hitting her but why’d you selective color this (and i’m a fan of selective color done right) is beyond me.. and what is up with that “vignette” looking shadowed frame? oy vey such a pretty girl to have wasted her senior class picture money with this person with a camera
On what planet are you living that the sunlight is that color? Indoors? Please find me a photo of something indoors where the sunlight has made it orange. Your task for the day.
It depends on your white balance, if you shoot raw and go into lightroom and move the kelvin slider to thewarm side it will apear orange. thus, if you have the inernal camera settings to think its colder light when its not it will produce an overly warm (orange) image. also, they probably oversaturated the crap out of it. thats just my 2cents

first off she is outside on what looks to be like park equipment or a picnic table… secondly the next time there is a really awesome orange/red sunset and you pull out your camera turn around you know… opposite the sunset and take a photo of a person.. it does indeed make them that color. I’ve won a press association award for a photo of a girl in a park with the sunset light hitting her making her glow that color… good lord you must be one of those people who are too busy taking photos of sunsets to notice what the light is doing the subjects it hits.
fauxtogs commenting on fauxtogs is a funny thing to those of us who do this for a living.
Sorry – there is no way that tone is sunlight or natural light – best case it is a gel filter over the flash (which may go a long way to explain the lack of contrast and pure blacks / whites in the photo.) Worst case – a bad Picnick or PS day.
I do like the idea of the 2012 being displayed – just not the execution.
I thought it might work better if it was along the ball of her foot, being read from left to right. I have to keep correcting myself because my brain keeps reading it as “2102.”
I hate feet also, (shot from this angle), though I don’t mind well-groomed and/or shod feet shot tastefully from above or maybe the side. These feet aren’t even remotely symmetrical, though I suppose people with jaundice have rights, too. The magic marker looks hideous.
